Alex Sheen
Founder
because I said I would
“Alex Sheen is the founder of because I said I would, a social movement and nonprofit dedicated to bettering humanity through promises made and kept. Sparked by the loss of his father, Alex and his organization send “promise cards” to anyone anywhere in the world at no cost. Alex is someone who truly honors commitment. He once walked over 240 miles across the entire state of Ohio in 10 days to fulfill a promise. In just two years, because I said I would has sent over 12.3  million promise cards to over 153 different countries. The promises written on these cards have made headlines around the world. Alex is a five time Tedx Talk speaker and his charitable work has been featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, CNN, The Today Show, NPR, The Los Angeles Times and many other programs.”

*Because I said I would operates primarily off money's made through speaking engagements, they have been severely impacted by COVID, but Alex and his team have continued their philanthropic work regardless.  I am including both donation links and how to print/request promise cards.

Rotarian in the News
Congratulations to Sarah Rintamaki - Founder - Connecting for Kids for making the Cover of Livespecial Magazine!! Sarah and her organization have made significant impact providing education and support to families in Northeast Ohio who have concerns about their child. They serve all families, including those children with and without formal diagnoses. With all the challenges in education as it relates to Covid-19 there is no better time to have an organization you can contact to help advocate and support you and your child!

Congratulations to Honorary President Ingrida Bublys for being selected as one of Crain’s 2020 Notable Immigrant Leaders, recognizing immigrant business professionals and civic leaders who have made an impact in Northeast Ohio. Ingrida has been a true leader amongst Cleveland's international community and the Rotary Club of Cleveland.  Her dedication and committement to our International Fellowship Day makes it one of our signature projects with incredible visibility in the community.

Congratulations to Jennifer E. Jones and Rotary!
A great day has dawned for Rotary! Rotary International has just made a bold - and many would say long overdue - move and in the process has made history, nominating the first female Rotarian for RI President in our 115-year history. Jennifer E. Jones, of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada, will be our organization's president for the 2022-23 Rotary year. Some of you might have met Jennifer when she came to our Annual Club Awards in 2016 to support PDG Beverly Ghent-Skrzynski as she ended her year as president of our club.
